Looking For Humane Animal Removal Services?
It can be relaxing and enjoyable to sit and watch the birds and animals in your trees and yard, but when they make their way into your home, that’s another story. Those of us here at Chesapeake Chimney & Co. are committed to helping you keep your chimney and dryer vents free of animals and birds for both your well-being and theirs.
You see, when animals come into your home to nest, whether it be in the chimney or the dryer vent, they bring with them a variety of flammable nesting materials. Not only can these materials easily spark a chimney or dryer vent fire, but they can also cause blockages, limiting air flow and decreasing both the efficiency and the safety of the entire system.
In addition to the increased threat of house fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, appliance inefficiency, and smoke problems, when animals enter your chimney or dryer vents they can get trapped, along with their young, and eventually die inside.
Our goal is to prevent these problems by offering humane animal removal services to our neighbors in Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s, southern Anne Arundel, and southern Prince George’s counties. If you live in the area and think you may have an animal nesting in your chimney or vent – be it a raccoon, a squirrel, a bird, a snake, or another animal – we can help.
We use proven techniques and humane traps to ensure the safety of you and the animals. Our technicians have the experience and patience to remove the animals, identify their entry point, and offer you solutions to prevent future entry.
Once we’ve humanely removed the animals, we’ll use Chim-Scan video technology to check the inside of your chimney or dryer vent for any damage that may have resulted from the nesting animal. Should we find any damage, we’ll let you know what we recommend for restoring the system once more.
What About Chimney Swifts?
Although we can remove just about any animal from your chimney system, we cannot remove chimney swifts. These birds are federally protected and must leave of their own accord. We can, however, let you know what you can do to prevent their return visit next year.
