How do I know my dryer vent needs cleaning?

The usual signs are clothes that won't dry in one cycle, a hot laundry room, and visible lint around the outside vent. Any of those is worth a cleaning.

Is a clogged dryer vent really a fire risk?

Yes. Trapped lint is highly flammable, and a blocked vent traps heat. Cleaning it restores efficiency and removes the hazard.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Once a year for most homes, and sooner if you run the dryer daily or have a long vent run. Regular cleaning keeps your clothes drying fast and clears the lint that builds up out of sight.

Can you clean a dryer vent that runs through the roof or a long wall?

Yes. We clean the full run end to end, no matter where it exits — through the roof, a long interior wall, or a tight crawlspace — and check that everything is connected and intact.
