Do I really need a chimney inspection when buying a house?

A standard home inspection almost never includes a real look up the flue. If the home has a fireplace, wood stove, or chimney, a dedicated inspection is the only way to know what you're actually buying — and what it might cost to make it usable.

Can you get it done before my closing date?

We'll do our best to work with your timeline — tell us your closing date when you schedule. You'll get your Chimney Health Report quickly, so there's time to bring anything we find back to the table.

What if the inspection turns up problems?

Then you'll know before you sign, with photos and a written report you can negotiate with. One buyer's inspection turned up around $20,000 in hidden repairs between the chimney and the stove's flue — and they were able to walk away from a home with hidden costs.
